Day 3

We finally figured out what kind of nipples work best for Katie's thickened breastmilk! So happy. Now we can give her a bottle without worrying about cutting up a disposable nipple.

Yesterday was pretty uneventful (other than it being a pain to get her down to sleep for the night.. Full feeding only two hours after her last one? Yay, growth spurts!). Here's a bunch of pictures :).

Day 2: Visitors!

Katie got visitors yesterday! Our friends Sam & David came by to hang out with her and have dinner (tortellini soup.. thanks for exposing me to this recipe, Sylvia! I've made it at least 3 times in the last month).

Ron is streamlining her milk-mixing system. You wouldn't think feeding her would be such a big job! We are fortifying with extra calories by adding formula (GoodStart Nourish) to her breastmilk. We also have to thicken it (Thik N Clear) to nectar consistency so it goes down the right tube.

I wanted to get a good picture of David holding her, but completely spaced. Sorry, David! Next time :).

Day 1: SuperDad to the Rescue!

Day 1 at home went great! Plenty of sleep, plenty of food, plenty of poop. Sounds like success to me.

Yesterday I was a little crazy (um, not the cute, weird, and quirky crazy.. the "omg too much to do" running around with my head unscrewed, nearly in tears crazy). But Ron was SuperDad and took control. He did dishes, laundry, cleaned the kitchen, took out trash, picked up Katie's room, got the swing in the living room, make Katie's crazy milk concoctions, and more that I've either forgotten or not noticed yet.

He even made dinner tonight and let me take a (sudden) two hour nap. AND got some video gaming in while Katie was asleep. Seriously. SuperDad.

After an uneventful drive home, we get Katie inside. Foster was the first to investigate. She has sniffed her a few times, but then walks away like she isn't interested lol.

Inara has sniffed her once and not hissed or growled! Very surprising. As expected, Clara is staying completely away.

Katie did SO well last night. We laid her down for the night around 1a. We woke up to feed her around 5:30a. She went right back go sleep, and woke around 9:15 babbling in her crib. I couldn't have asked for a better first night!
